QMusic appointed Kristy Ellis as its permanent Chief Executive Officer on August 24, 2026, following a national search for a long-term leader for Queensland’s contemporary music industry. Ellis had served as QMusic’s interim CEO since April, stepping into the position after the departure of former CEO Kris Stewart. In her permanent role, Ellis will oversee the delivery of key industry programs and events, including Industry Connect, Concert Care, BIGSOUND, and the Queensland Music Awards.
