Radio Mayak, also known as Радио Маяк or MK, is a State Owned company headquartered in Russia. Operating as a tier 1 media tech buyer, the company was established on August 1, 1964, specializing in broadcast radio services. Initially launched as a major All-Union Radio station focused on news and light music, its format was inspired by the BBC Light Programme. In addition to its primary Radio Mayak channel, which broadcasts news, talk shows, and popular music, the company manages the youth music channel Radio Yunost. Historically, Radio Mayak was transmitted on long wave, medium wave, and shortwave, introducing advertising in the 1980s. The station is also known for its trademark Moscow Nights tuning signal, which is played every 30 minutes.
