Earlier, on August 22, the organization secured prospect Yaroslav Korostelyov, who terminated his contract with SKA St. Petersburg to join the San Jose organization for the 2026-27 season, making him the second goalie named Yaroslav in the Sharks' system. This followed the Sharks' August 19 re-signing of their affiliation agreement with the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder for the 2026-27 season, extending a partnership that began in 2022, as confirmed by Sharks assistant general manager Joe Will.
