The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a privately owned art and design university founded in 1978 and headquartered in the United States. It employs approximately 3,880 people.
SCAD announced a new fashion eyewear design minor degree program for the 2025-2026 academic year, citing the eyewear industry's projected growth to $246 billion by 2030. This program will be the first accredited fashion eyewear design program at a U.S. university. Additionally, SCAD hosted the SCAD AnimationFest at the SCADshow theater in Atlanta. This three-day festival showcased animation work across various media, including film, television, and social media. The festival included industry guests, screenings of films and TV shows from networks such as CBS, FX, Fox, and Hulu, and student work. Finally, the SCAD Museum of Art presented new exhibitions in the fall, featuring artists Davina Semo and Summer Wheat, and Michi Meko. The museum held opening receptions and artist talks to discuss the exhibitions.
