The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Lucas Theatre will host a screening of "Shrek" on June 25, a film about an ogre who rescues a princess to reclaim his swamp. This follows the June 22 screening of "Stand by Me" at the Lucas Theatre, which celebrated the film's 40th anniversary and honored filmmaker Rob Reiner's legacy with its story of four boys searching for a missing teenager. Also on June 18, the Lucas Theatre screened "Young Frankenstein" as an early celebration of Mel Brooks' 100th birthday, starring Gene Wilder as the reluctant grandson of Dr. Frankenstein. Concurrently, SCAD promoted its online SCADnow graduate degree programs via a virtual information session on June 18, outlining career resources, professional-grade technology, and faculty with real-world experience available to students.
