Savannah College of Art and Design, also known as SCAD, is a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, founded in 1978 and employing approximately 3880 individuals. The institution functions as a US-based art and design university.
SCAD FASH Lacoste opened "André Leon Talley: Le Style est Éternel" on April 1, 2026, an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of André Leon Talley, following earlier presentations at SCAD museums in Atlanta and Savannah. On April 2, SCADshow and SCAD FASH presented a book conversation with Beatrice Dixon, co-founder and CEO of The Honey Pot Company, who discussed her memoir "The Soul Instinct" with executive director Alex Delotch Davis. Also on April 2, the institution hosted a screening of Sofia Coppola's feature documentary "Marc by Sofia," which offers a look at designer Marc Jacobs as he created his spring 2024 collection, exploring its pop culture, fashion, and artistic influences. Previously, on April 1, SCAD conducted an on-ground tour in Atlanta for its graduate programs, where attendees explored the admission process, learning resources, and met with graduate advisers. This followed a launch event on March 27 in Atlanta for the annual SCAD Sand Arts Festival, offering hands-on workshops to prepare participants, led by visual artist Chris Nitsche and SCAD professors Heather Deyling and Carl Linstrum.
