Savannah College of Art and Design, also known as SCAD, is a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, founded in 1978 and employing approximately 3880 individuals. The institution functions as a US-based art and design university.
Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) presented Ezra Masch's "VOLUMES," a site-specific interactive light installation, at a SCAD deFINE ART performance on February 20, 2026. The installation features a grid of over 20 tubular LED lights that translate strikes on drumheads and cymbals into luminous bursts, with regional drummers contributing across various musical specialties. Previously, on February 19, the SCAD Museum of Art hosted the opening celebration for SCAD deFINE ART 2026, honoring artist and performer Laurie Anderson. The event debuted a new season of exhibitions featuring Anderson, Farah Al Qasimi, Mona Bozorgi, Eva Jospin, Anish Kapoor, and Max Lamb, showcasing international creators challenging storytelling conventions and reframing media relationships. Earlier in the month, on February 14, SCAD hosted SCAD Day in Savannah, an open house event where prospective students could experience classroom demonstrations in art, business, design, and STEM fields.
