Savannah College of Art and Design, also known as SCAD, is a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, founded in 1978 and employing approximately 3880 individuals. The institution functions as a US-based art and design university.
On April 25, SCAD's Trustees Theater screened "Harold and Maude," a film depicting the unlikely relationship between a death-obsessed 19-year-old and a life-embracing 79-year-old. Previously, on April 24, the university hosted its SCAD Sand Arts Festival 2026, a beach-side sculpture competition where students and alumni united to compete. Earlier, on April 21, SCAD FASH featured a Christian Dior Couture exhibition, curated by Hélène Starkman for Dior and Rafael Brauer Gomes for SCAD FASH, which re-framed couture through the themes of craft transmission and education. This followed two events held on April 17. SCADFILM hosted its In Focus: Writing event, bringing together accomplished screenwriters, podcast creators, and other creative voices to examine how stories take shape across various platforms. Concurrently, the SCAD FASHION Senior Showcase in Savannah celebrated graduating fashion students' artistry, presenting their collections to the public as a prelude to the SCAD FASHION runway show.
