Savannah College of Art and Design, also known as SCAD, is a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, founded in 1978 and employing approximately 3880 individuals. The institution functions as a US-based art and design university.
On August 21, 2026, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) held SCAD Day in Atlanta for prospective students. Previously, on August 17, residence halls closed at 5 p.m. for all students without fall housing assignments. Earlier in August, on the 14th, the Lucas Theatre hosted a screening of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" to mark the film's 45th anniversary. In late July, SCADshow presented "Road Trip," an independent improv show recognized with the Audience’s Choice award for Large Ensemble at the Atlanta Fringe Festival, on July 31. This followed a summer screening of "Catch Me If You Can" at SCADshow on July 27, which recounted the story of con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. prior to his 18th birthday.
