Creston papers transition to new owner – Osceola
After 80 years with Shaw Media, the Creston News Advertiser and its sister papers the Osceola Sentinel-Tribune, Adair County Free Press, Fontanelle Observer and The Weekly are now under a new owner. J. Louis “Louie” Mullen, owner of Harlan Publishing, assumed ownership effective May 1.

J. Louis “Louie” Mullen has acquired Creston Publishing Company (CPC) in south-central Iowa from Shaw Media. The acquisition includes The Creston News Advertiser, Osceola Sentinel-Tribune, The Weekly, Adair County Free Press and The Fontanelle Observer. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

History doesn’t always repeat itself. But one thing remains pretty consistent in regards to the makeup of the teams that qualify for the IHSA playoffs: teams that qualify for the playoffs, tend to repeat the process more often than not. Certainly there are always a few new teams that would break into the field on a year-to-year basis, but the percentages have always been fairly stable and you could almost always count on about an 80% return rate from year-to-year.
