Previously, on April 6, 2026, MultiChoice began consolidating its streaming services in East Africa, providing eligible Showmax subscribers in Uganda with free trial access to DStv Stream Compact until the end of May 2026, in preparation for the standalone Showmax platform's discontinuation. DStv first announced this trial access for eligible Showmax subscribers on April 2, 2026. MultiChoice had confirmed the platform's shutdown by the end of April, effective from April 1, 2026.
