Previously, on August 10, LooUQ’s MTC2-N9151 embedded modem earned Skylo Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) certification, building on Nordic’s own Skylo-certified nRF9151 to reduce time-to-market for IoT product developers. Water technology company Remsight is already deploying LooUQ's modem to monitor water infrastructure across the American West. Earlier, on August 8, UAE’s Space42 and Skylo Technologies completed a two-way SMS and emergency SOS test between a standard Android smartphone and the Thuraya-4 satellite. This followed an announcement on August 6 by Nordic Semiconductor that its nRF9151 module, with Skylo certification inherited by embedded modem maker LooUQ, offers IoT developers a faster path to building devices that connect across cellular and satellite networks using Skylo's standards-based NTN service.
