On April 23, Viasat announced its forthcoming ViaSat-3 F3 satellite will deliver more than 1 terabit per second (Tbps) of data throughput, featuring dynamic beam forming capabilities to shift capacity to areas with the greatest demand. Earlier the same day, Jetstar Airways selected Viasat to power the in-flight connectivity (IFC) service across its 11-aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, an agreement that will see Viasat’s next-generation AMARA platform installed as Jetstar modernizes its international fleet through mid-2027. Also on April 23, Viasat introduced its new Assured Edge-to-Cloud Connectivity Service, utilizing Viasat Tactical Mission Fabric™ (TMF) to provide resilient multi-path network orchestration and real-time secure cloud access for tactical defense networks. This followed a live demonstration on April 22 at Mobile World Congress 2026, where Cubic3, Viasat, Qualcomm Technologies, and Fraunhofer IIS showcased satellite-enabled voice calling for software-defined vehicles, marking a Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) automotive connectivity milestone.
