Spline is a privately owned software company founded in 2020 and headquartered in the US. The company has 40 employees and specializes in generative AI. Spline's main product is a free 3D design and animation software with real-time collaboration to create web interactive experiences in the browser.
On 13th August 2024, Spline, a collaborative 3D design platform, announced two major developments. Firstly, it secured $10 million in Series A funding led by Third Point Ventures, with participation from Gradient Ventures, Y Combinator, Firestreak, Jorn van Dijk (CEO of Framer), and Guillermo Rauch (CEO of Vercel). Secondly, Spline launched support for Android, enabling designers to create 3D content, build interactions, and deploy them natively to any spatial device, mobile application, or website without coding. This marks a significant milestone in 3D design, making it possible for the first time ever to design for Android in 3D.
