SUN Group, a privately owned company headquartered in India, was founded in 1992 and employs approximately 4990 individuals. The company specializes in operating gambling facilities and casinos, and functions as an Indian media company that operates a range of television channels in various languages worldwide.
Sun Group's wholly-owned carrier, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA), will launch daily direct flights between Singapore and Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island beginning July 25. This initiative extends the Vietnamese real estate and tourism conglomerate's "destination ecosystem" as it ramps up hotel and resort development in Phu Quoc. Earlier on June 25, Sun Group indicated that Sun PhuQuoc Airways, which commenced operations in 2025, is planning rapid international expansion with Phu Quoc as a central focus for its tourism development efforts. This activity follows the State Bank of Vietnam's (SBV) decision on June 24 to introduce a special lending mechanism for 18 major infrastructure and urban development projects, including those proposed by Sun Group, Vingroup, and Masterise. This policy allows commercial banks to exclude newly extended loans to these projects from their annual credit growth calculations, aiming to facilitate financing for large-scale infrastructure and economic development initiatives.
