Functioning primarily in computer hardware manufacturing, the company operates as an IT Solutions provider, specializing in server, AI, storage, IoT, and switch systems, software, and services, alongside delivering high-volume motherboard, power, and chassis products.
On August 27, Taiwanese prosecutors indicted nine individuals over an alleged scheme to obtain and divert dozens of high-end Super Micro servers containing Nvidia B300 AI chips to China. Prosecutors stated this ploy, which involved false pretenses, generated more than NT$600 million (about USD$19 million) in illicit proceeds. Earlier on August 27, Cisco expanded its Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA, integrating Supermicro as a compute partner by adding its liquid- and air-cooled rack-scale GPU systems into Cisco’s full-stack AI infrastructure architecture. This expansion, featuring Vera Rubin NVL72 support and an expected October availability, targets enterprise neocloud and sovereign cloud customers building large-scale AI deployments, supporting high-density AI infrastructure for workloads ranging from enterprise inference to trillion-parameter model training.
