Founded in 1997, the company, which employs approximately 280 individuals, reported $3.2B in revenue as of 2024, operating as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Formerly known as Hanaro Telecom, SK Broadband functions as one of the largest broadband Internet access providers in South Korea. Prior to its acquisition in 2008, Hanaro controlled nearly half of the Korean landline market, serving as the sole last mile-competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) apart from the state-owned KT Corp. SK Broadband also encompasses a division named "Broad &" that manages a substantial portion of the South Korean calling card market.
