Telecom Fiji partnered with the Fiji Police Force to improve national security using advanced surveillance technology and network infrastructure. The partnership, officially announced this week, aims to enhance public safety. On May 21, 2025, the companies formalized a partnership to launch the Safe City Project in the Suva-Nausori corridor. This project involves Telecom Fiji providing high-speed fiber-optic connectivity and a CCTV camera network; all video feeds will go to the Fiji Police Command Centre. Separately, former Telecom Fiji board member Sanjay Kaba's case, involving accusations of obtaining a financial advantage exceeding $700,000, was adjourned. Parties involved have one month to finalize agreed-upon facts. Mr. Kaba is scheduled to reappear in court on June 27th.
