News Summary:

Telstra recently secured a five-year agreement with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank on March 13, 2026, to provide telecommunications services across the bank's national Australian operations. This arrangement will supply connectivity for the bank's business operations and retail network, supporting its 2.9 million customers and workforce while aiming to improve network security, internet speeds, and resilience. Earlier on March 12, Telstra officially inaugurated a new office in Manila, Philippines, with Australian Ambassador Marc Innes-Brown and Telstra executives attending the event, which was noted as a milestone in Australia-Philippines economic cooperation. Concurrently, Telstra announced a planned outage in Temora from March 17 to March 30, between 7 am and 5:30 pm, to upgrade 4G/5G services, intended to increase the mobile site’s capacity for faster download speeds, smoother streaming, and reduced congestion for local users. Previously that day, a proposal emerged that could reduce Telstra's claimed mobile coverage by one million square kilometers, a move the telco is actively challenging.
