The Arab States Broadcasting Union, also known as ASBU, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Saudi Arabia. Founded in February 1969 in Khartoum and operating with approximately 50 employees, the entity focuses on media production. Functioning as one of the oldest pan-Arab institutions belonging to the League of Arab States system, ASBU's core objective is to strengthen ties and promote cooperation among broadcasters in the Arab States for the purpose of production and content development.
On September 9, 2026, the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) announced its preparations to host the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival from September 21 to 24, 2026, under the slogan “Where Image Pulses and Future Echoes.” This theme reflects the vitality of the present image and a future media landscape shaped by advancing technology and evolving content creation and experience. Earlier, on August 31, ASBU confirmed that Tunis and Hammamet, Tunisia, would host the festival, with participants able to find the organization at booth S17 at the Royal ASBU Hotel in Hammamet during the event. This followed the August 5 completion of the review of all submitted entries by ASBU’s Listening and Viewing Committee at its headquarters, a crucial step in preparing for the 26th edition of the festival.
