The Arab States Broadcasting Union, also known as ASBU, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Saudi Arabia. Founded in February 1969 in Khartoum and operating with approximately 50 employees, the entity focuses on media production. Functioning as one of the oldest pan-Arab institutions belonging to the League of Arab States system, ASBU's core objective is to strengthen ties and promote cooperation among broadcasters in the Arab States for the purpose of production and content development.
On August 5, 2026, the Listening and Viewing Committee of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) completed the review of all submitted entries for the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival competitions. The festival is slated to take place in Tunisia from September 21 to 24. Previously, ASBU participated in the EBU Media Summit 2026, organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from April 21 to 24, 2026, the event brought together more than 150 participants from 37 countries.
