The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, also known as GCC, is a Privately Owned entity headquartered in Saudi Arabia, founded in 1981 and employing approximately 280 individuals. Functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer, the organization serves as a regional, intergovernmental, political, and economic union comprising the member states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
On February 15, 2026, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi stated that the organization's partnership with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has developed into a practical model for joint regional and international security, reflecting a shared commitment to stability based on mutual interests and collective responsibility. Previously, on February 9, 2026, Albudaiwi stressed that GCC leaders established an Advisory Board, a decision rooted in their conviction to strengthen coordination and joint Gulf action. This follows the GCC's signing of Terms of Reference (ToR) with India on February 5, 2026, in New Delhi, to resume negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The ToR define the scope and modalities for the proposed GCC-India FTA, with Shri Ajay Bhadoo, Additional Secretary and Chief Negotiator for India's Department of Commerce, and Dr. Raja Al Marzouqi, Chief Negotiator for the GCC Secretariat General, signing the document.
