On February 19, 2026, Salford Business School received a maximum five-year Small Business Charter accreditation, confirming its role in supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) through practical education, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange, while also enabling it to continue delivering the Help to Grow: Management program. The University also announced on February 16 that Figen Murray OBE will deliver the 2026 Annual Law Lecture on February 26 at Maxwell Hall, discussing how personal tragedy can lead to legislative change. This follows the February 15 opening of the new £14.3 million Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT) building, the latest Campus Connectivity Plan project, which will function as a central hub for further education college partners and engaged employers such as BBC, Laing O’Rourke, GCHQ, and Siemens.
