On October 6, 2026, a significant deal closed, combining two of Hollywood's most storied institutions and ushering in a new chapter for CNN and the former Turner Broadcasting networks, including TNT. The merger will integrate employee bases and real estate footprints. Previously, on September 1, journalist Steve Kim on the 3 Knockdown Rule podcast criticized TNT's quality control for boxing matches, questioning an executive's assertion about the ability to "red-light" fights. In other sports developments, TNT named Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson as its replacement import for Darius Days in the PBA Governors’ Cup on July 29, following Days' final game in the team's 101-107 win against Converge.
