University Athletic Association of the Philippines, also known as UAAP, is a privately owned entity based in the Philippines. Founded in 1938 and operating with approximately 10 employees, the organization functions as an athletic association for eight Metro Manila universities. Varsity teams from these universities compete annually in the league's 31 events across 17 disciplines, including 3x3 basketball, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo poomsae, taekwondo kyorugi (sparring), tennis, track and field, and volleyball, to vie for the overall championship title.
On July 14, 2026, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Board approved Ateneo de Manila University's request to extend the deadline for submitting official findings on the June 8 incident in Dipaculao, Aurora, which claimed the lives of student athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili. This followed the UAAP's decision on June 19, 2026, to bar members of the Ateneo de Manila University coaching staff who were present during the fatal Aurora incident. Previously, on June 30, 2025, the UAAP and Cignal committed to working on renewing their partnership for another five years.
