University of South Alabama, a State Owned institution based in US, founded in 1963 and employing approximately 2730 individuals, functions as a global research and teaching university that provides students education in business, the liberal arts, education, engineering, computing, the sciences and healthcare.
The University of South Alabama on April 23, 2026, launched its "Where Bold Begins" capital campaign, aiming to raise up to $500 million in what University President Jo Bonner described as the institution's boldest fundraising effort in its six-decade history. Previously, on April 22, Guillermo Herrera M.D., chair of pathology at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, delivered a lecture on nephropathology at an international program in Mexico City. This followed a report from April 21, where Miranda Powell of the AS CHSE University of South Alabama authored a study titled "From Simulation to Conversation: Simulated Patients’ Contribution to Meaningful Feedback Dialogues," which examined the contribution of standardized patients to meaningful feedback dialogues in healthcare education.
