University of Waterloo, also known as UW, is a publicly owned entity headquartered in US. Founded in 1959, the institution employs approximately 11,380 individuals. Functioning as a public research university located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, its main campus spans 404 hectares (998 acres) adjacent to uptown Waterloo and Waterloo Park.
