Utah Royals

Utah Royals is a privately owned company based in the United States. Founded in 2017, the company operates with approximately 70 employees, primarily focused on sports tickets, merchandise, and sponsorship. The Utah Royals function as an American professional soccer team based in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, competing in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Established on November 16, 2017, as an expansion team, the Royals played their initial period in the NWSL from 2018 until ceasing operations in 2020, at which point their player-related assets were transferred to the expansion Kansas City Current. In 2023, the team was reestablished by then-Real Salt Lake owners Ryan Smith and David Blitzer.
