Vantage Towers, a privately owned company headquartered in Germany with approximately 480 employees, specializes in telecoms network infrastructure. The company is involved in the construction, management, and leasing of towers, antenna masts, and other facilities to mobile network operators. Previously, it operated as a subsidiary of the British telecommunications company Vodafone Group and was listed on the stock exchange from 2021 to 2023. Vantage Towers is among Europe's largest infrastructure companies in terms of sites and turnover.
On April 1, 2026, Cavan County Council refused Vantage Towers' plans to erect a 21-meter (70ft) mobile phone communications mast at Moynehall Car Sales for the second time in six months. This follows the company's deployment on March 18, 2026, of PowerX Technology's AI platform for intelligent monitoring across 220 rural telecom sites. The initiative aims to digitize energy management with real-time visibility, replacing manual diesel oversight with continuous telemetry and monitoring, particularly for off-grid operations. Earlier in March, Vantage Towers partnered with Telefonica to deploy a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) providing a 5G Standalone (SA) network within the Plaza Norte 2 shopping center in Madrid. This collaboration, announced around March 9 and 10, established the complex in San Sebastian de los Reyes as the first shopping mall in Spain to feature full indoor 5G SA coverage.
