BICS, a privately owned Belgian company founded in 1996, provides telecoms network infrastructure. BICS serves a range of clients including telecom operators, virtual network operators, service providers, enterprise software providers, and large multinational corporations, focusing on mission-critical communication needs. It operates as a subsidiary of the Proximus Group.
On June 9, 2025, Proximus Global launched fixed-number portability in Japan. This allows businesses and individuals more flexibility with communication services. A Proximus Global consumer research study, released June 19, 2025, revealed low eSIM awareness and adoption in the US, UK, and China, although nearly half of consumers surveyed expressed interest in using eSIMs for travel. On September 18, 2025, CoopVoce, an Italian MVNO, partnered with BICS to manage and improve international voice services.
