On August 13, 2026, VEON-owned telco Banglalink secured a Payment Service Provider (PSP) licence from Bangladesh’s central bank, clearing its entry into the country's digital payments market. Banglalink plans to launch its digital payment services under the brand Mukto Pay, which will provide simple, secure, and accessible digital payment solutions, targeting a commercial launch in September 2026. This development advances VEON's digital financial services ambitions. Previously, on August 11, 2026, VEON Ltd. reported second-quarter 2026 sales of US$1,271 million, an increase from US$1,087 million a year earlier, despite net income falling to US$122 million from US$595 million. Following these results, the company raised its full-year 2026 revenue growth guidance from 11%–14% to 15%–18%.
