Vietnam Television, also known as VTV, is a State Owned entity headquartered in Vietnam. Founded in 1970, the broadcaster operates under the direct administration of the Vietnamese Government and employs approximately 390 individuals. Functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer, VTV's core mission is to disseminate government policies, improve public knowledge, and enrich the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people, reaching the entire nation and the Vietnamese diaspora globally. VTV manages a large multi-channel network, including channels like VTV1 (News), VTV3 (Entertainment and Sports), and regional channels such as VTV Cần Thơ, in addition to its digital streaming platform, VTV Go.
On December 12, 2025, Vietnam Television, in collaboration with the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work, the Central Propaganda and Education Committee, and the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, organized the 2025 National External Information Awards ceremony. At the event, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính acknowledged the external information work's outstanding achievements despite challenges, requesting the development of a resilient, intelligent, creative, responsible, dedicated, and visionary workforce for external information service committed to promoting Việt Nam's authentic image globally and addressing negative perceptions.
