Wanda Media, also known as Wanda Pictures, is a privately owned company headquartered in China. Founded in 2011 by Wang Jianlin, with approximately 70 employees, it operates as a cinematic studio, film distributor, and intellectual property entity. The company specializes in entertainment content rights, functioning as a subsidiary of the Dalian Wanda Group, integrated into its Wanda Cultural Industry Group. Headquartered in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, China, Wanda Media was established to support the conglomerate's diversification into the global entertainment market. By 2014, it had achieved the largest market share among private Chinese film production houses and ranked as the nation's second-largest visual manufacturing engine overall. Operating alongside exhibition assets like Wanda Cinemas and the production capabilities of Legendary Entertainment, the studio manages a proprietary intellectual property library. Its visual catalog includes the Detective Chinatown series (Detective Chinatown, Detective Chinatown 2, Detective Chinatown 3, and Detective 1900), The Great Hypnotist, Goodbye Mr. Loser, Some Like It Hot, and The Legend Hunters.
