On April 6, 2025, Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals played the New York Islanders at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The game was broadcast on TNT, truTV Max, and Monumental Sports Network, and also available on multiple streaming services. Ovechkin was one goal away from becoming the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer. Projected lineups for the Capitals and Islanders were available from various sources. A separate game between the Minnesota Wild and the New York Islanders occurred on Friday before the April 6th game.
