AFL Victoria, a privately owned organization founded in 1999, is the governing body for Australian rules football in Victoria, Australia. Employing approximately 240 people, it oversees a significant portion of the sport within the state. Its jurisdiction encompasses 115 leagues, including prominent competitions such as the Victorian Football League, Victorian Amateur Football Association, and Victorian Country Football League, as well as numerous local metropolitan and country leagues, and a total of 1,942 clubs.
The AFL announced the inaugural Gather Round Sprint, a competition for community footballers across Australia to compete in a 70-meter sprint at Barossa Park in Lyndoch for a prize pool exceeding $30,000. Separately, twenty-five emerging umpire coaches will participate in the 2025 National UMPowered Coaching Conference in Melbourne on March 29 and 30, aiming to enhance skills and increase women and gender-diverse representation in umpire coaching. Bradnam’s Windows & Doors extended its sponsorship of AFL Queensland umpires for a fourth year. Finally, funding from the AFL and NSW Government enabled the installation of four new light towers at the Bathurst Giants' home ground, George Park, representing an investment of over $300,000.
