Agora, a publicly owned company headquartered in the US, was founded in 2014 and operates with approximately 1,120 employees. The company reported $141.4M in revenue as of 2025. Functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer, Agora specializes in conferencing, ecommerce, and customer journey technology. It provides real-time engagement solutions through its video, voice, and live interactive streaming platform.
Agora Inc. and Gradium recently announced a strategic partnership on July 9, to integrate Gradium's text-to-speech technology into Agora's Conversational AI Engine. This collaboration aims to provide developers with an additional high-performance option for building natural, low-latency voice AI experiences, with the technology becoming available later this month. Previously, on July 6, Agora released a new command-line interface (CLI) designed to streamline the initial project setup process for developers and AI coding agents. The company indicated that the CLI addresses manual tasks such as creating projects, retrieving credentials, securely setting up environment files, and selecting appropriate quickstart templates. Earlier, on July 3, Agora launched its Agents SDK, a typed software development kit. This SDK enables developers to build voice agents on Agora's Conversational AI Engine using Python, Node.js, and Go, offering features like typed builders, built-in authentication token generation, and session management on top of the existing REST API.
