Amlogic (Shanghai), a publicly owned company founded in 1995, is a fabless system-on-a-chip (SoC) designer headquartered in the US. Employing approximately 350 people, the company manufactures computer and electronics components. Amlogic's primary focus is developing open platform solutions for multimedia consumer electronics, such as over-the-top (OTT)/internet protocol (IP) set-top boxes, smart televisions, and smart home devices.
Amlogic announced plans to acquire 100% of Xinmai Microelectronics' equity for RMB 316 million in cash. On September 20, 2025, the company further explained the strategic importance of this acquisition. Separately, on September 19, 2025, Amlogic announced plans to acquire CMIND-SEMI, a technology company specializing in wireless communication for IoT, connected vehicles, and smart terminals. Amlogic Shanghai Co Ltd also announced its intention to acquire Cmind-SEMI for 3161 million yuan. The acquisition details were reported in multiple press releases.
