Arabsat, founded in 1976 and headquartered in Saudi Arabia, is a privately owned satellite operator and provider of connectivity and distribution services in the Arab world. The company has a workforce of around 220 employees and generates annual revenues of less than $250 million as of 2023. Arabsat's primary business involves operating satellites and providing satellite-based services, including television broadcasting, telecommunications, and data transmission, to customers across the Middle East and North Africa region.
Arabsat organized its 14th forum under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, bringing together telecommunications service providers, owners and managers of Arab and international broadcasting channels, global experts, and technical partners. In a separate development, Arabsat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization to enhance disaster response using satellite solutions. Arabsat ASBU and Globecast celebrated 20 years of partnership by renewing a multi-year deal for Global Arabic Bouquet (GAB) services, offering a range of DTH distribution services complemented by digital and terrestrial streaming platforms worldwide. Bader R. Bahaian was appointed as Arabsat's vice president of marketing and customer services. Additionally, Arabsat ASBU and Globecast renewed a multi-year deal for GAB services, aiming to expand the reach of Arab public broadcasters to Arab expatriates and Arabic-speaking people globally.
