The Asian Cricket Council (ACC), a privately owned organization founded in 1983, is headquartered in Malaysia and employs approximately 20 people. Its primary activity is the promotion and organization of spectator cricket events in Asia. As of 2023, the ACC continues its mission of developing and advancing the sport within the Asian region.
On Thursday, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced that Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was elected as the new ACC president. This followed a virtual Annual General Meeting of ACC member nations. Pakistan assumed the ACC presidency from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), effective immediately. Naqvi's term will last until 2027. His first major task will be overseeing the men's Asia Cup, a T20 tournament.
