English clocks PB as Irish trio compete at inaugural World Ultimate Championships

Mark English produced another outstanding performance to finish sixth in the men’s 800m final as three Irish athletes represented Ireland at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest from September 11th–13th. European champion English (Finn Valley AC), European silver medallist Rhasidat Adeleke (Tallaght AC) and Sharlene Mawdsley (Newport AC) all took to the track at the National Athletics Centre, returning to the venue where the trio competed at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.

lane athletics track planned for Lusk

Plans are in place to build an eight-lane athletics track in Lusk at Rathmore Park with work due to commence on 24 August 2026. After years of consultation and collaboration between the sports clubs affiliated with Lusk Sports CLG (formerly the Lusk 2020 Sports Group) and Fingal County Council, including Lusk AC, the project is due to be completed in July 2027.
