The Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), a privately owned French organization founded in 1906, is a major motorsports event organizer. Employing approximately 380 people, the ACO's activities include organizing and promoting various racing series. These include the 24 Hours of Le Mans, first held in 1923, and, since 2012, the FIA World Endurance Championship. The ACO also created the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as well as the European and Asian Le Mans Series. The organization's history dates back to the staging of the first Grand Prix motor race in 1906.
