Azerbaijan Basketball Federation, a privately owned entity headquartered in Azerbaijan, was founded in 1993. The organization, which operates with approximately 30 employees, reported $3.7M in revenue as of 2023. Functioning as the national governing body of basketball in Azerbaijan, it operates both the Azerbaijan men's national team and Azerbaijan women's national team. The federation organizes national competitions in Azerbaijan for both men's and women's senior teams and youth national basketball teams, also overseeing the Azerbaijan Basketball League, the top professional league in the country. Since 1994, it has been a permanent member of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), contributing to the growth and promotion of basketball within Azerbaijan.
