Azerbaijan Basketball Federation, a privately owned entity headquartered in Azerbaijan, was founded in 1993 and operates with approximately 30 employees. The organization functions as the national governing body of basketball in Azerbaijan, responsible for operating the Azerbaijan men's national team and Azerbaijan women's national team. It organizes national competitions for both men's and women's senior teams and youth national basketball teams, including the Azerbaijan Basketball League, the top professional league in the country. Since 1994, it has been a permanent member of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), contributing to the growth and promotion of basketball within Azerbaijan.
