Bedrock, also known as Bedrock Streaming, is a privately owned company headquartered in France. Established in 2020, the company, which is jointly owned by RTL Group and M6 Group, employs approximately 280 individuals and reported $45.9M in revenue as of 2024. As a tier 2 media tech buyer, Bedrock specializes in providing video business systems, functioning as a French video platform and OVP provider.
Bedrock Streaming recently focused on optimizing its AWS costs, emphasizing a systematic cloud financial operations (FinOps) strategy to turn technical decisions into opportunities for substantial savings amidst increasing traffic and solution complexity. Earlier on May 13, Bedrock unveiled plans for a summer season of activities and programming at Nick Gilbert Way, located between the Hudson's Detroit buildings. The planned events include live music, community gatherings, games, and food and beverage offerings. Previously on the same day, German broadcaster RTL Deutschland finalized the migration of its RTL+ streaming service to the Bedrock technology platform. This migration, initially reported in July 2024, aims to consolidate technology resources, enhance efficiency and scalability, and contribute to RTL Group's objective of achieving profitability in its streaming business by 2026.
Bedrock's customers primarily consist of broadcast television and radio and broadcast Media Production and Distribution companies. Examples of Bedrock's customers include M6 Group, RTL Deutschland and RTL Netherlands. Examples of Bedrock's suppliers include Synamedia, Unified Streaming and Quortex.io.
