As a tier 2 media tech buyer, the entity was established in 2010 through the merger of Beijing People's Broadcasting Station, Beijing Television Station, and Beiguang Media, operating under the direct oversight of the Beijing Municipal People's Government. BRTV manages a multi-platform ecosystem comprising ten primary television channels and over a dozen radio frequencies, anchored by its Beijing Satellite TV network.
