On Friday, August 2, 2025, Block Communications announced an agreement to sell its television stations to Gray Media. The sale includes stations in Louisville, Kentucky; Springfield-Champaign-Decatur, Illinois; and Lima, Ohio. Gray Media, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is the nation's largest owner of local television stations and digital assets, reaching approximately 37% of US television households. The sale price is $80 million. The acquisition represents a strategic move by Gray Media to expand its presence in the Midwest. Block Communications had owned the stations since 1971.
