CNA host Steven Chia recently debunked a fabricated article circulating on Facebook, which used his likeness as part of a scam promoting an alleged automated trading system. The false CNA article depicted DBS CEO Tan Su Shan storming out of an interview with Chia, the host of "Talking Point." Earlier on June 19, CNA won at the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards for an interactive calculator detailing potential benefits from Singapore's 2025 Budget and a pictorially driven investigative piece on Malaysia's charcoal workers. This followed a June 16 Reuters Institute Digital News Report that named CNA as Singapore's most-used online news source. The report found that 47% of respondents accessed CNA weekly, placing it ahead of Mothership (45%) and The Straits Times (44%).
