TVRI Nasional, a state-owned Indonesian public broadcaster founded in 1962, operates television and radio services. As the oldest television network in Indonesia, it launched on August 24, 1962, coinciding with the opening of the Asian Games. Headquartered in Central Jakarta, Indonesia, TVRI employs approximately 520 people. In 2023, its revenue was below $250 million. It is one of two national public broadcasting institutions in Indonesia, alongside the RRI radio network.
TVRI Indonesia received the 2025 Child-Friendly Television Award for its decades-long contribution to children's programming. A study examined the use of Artificial Intelligence in non-news program production at TVRI Yogyakarta, employing qualitative methods and descriptive analysis. Separately, the Indonesian Press Council supported a Communications Ministry proposal to create a public endowment fund for independent and sustainable journalism.
