News Summary:

Comcast Corporation is reportedly weighing a potential acquisition of Charter Communications, its primary rival in the cable and broadband distribution business, according to a July 10 report from the New York Post. The discussions have been underway for some time, though significant financial and regulatory obstacles have so far prevented any formal move. Previously, on July 9, Charter Communications challenged the restructuring plan filed by Dish Wireless, claiming it is being forced to suffer "huge potential damages" under a "rushed bankruptcy process." Charter, also known as Spectrum, had agreed to provide services for the build-out of Dish’s 5G network. Earlier the same day, Charter announced it would discontinue operations of the Network Operations Center team at its Town and Country office in St. Louis, Missouri, effective September 8. This decision is expected to affect 107 employees at the 941 Charter Commons Street location, though other teams working from the site are not impacted.
