China Mobile International, also known as CMI, is a publicly owned company headquartered in Hong Kong. Operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile, it lists China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) among its parent companies. Founded in 2010, the company employs approximately 1,420 individuals and reported $4.1 billion in revenue as of 2025. Specializing in telecoms, CMI is mainly responsible for the operation of China Mobile's international business.
On September 30, 2026, the China Mobile 6G Application Innovation Laboratory, established under China Mobile Communications Group Co. Ltd., opened at the corporation's International Information Port in Beijing's Changping district. The laboratory operates as a sub-laboratory of Beijing's key 6G laboratory and collaborates with multiple enterprises, universities, research institutes, and user service providers. Previously, on September 28, China Mobile International signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysian multidisciplinary real estate firm Quill Group of Companies to explore cooperation opportunities in green data centers and AI digital infrastructure in Malaysia. Earlier in September, U.S. carriers supported a potential ban on Chinese state-linked telecom operators, including China Mobile International, but cautioned that the proposed interconnection scope could isolate global traffic. This followed an August 27 announcement by TANCO Holdings Berhad, providing a status update on its Memorandum of Understanding with China Mobile International Limited through its subsidiary, TANCO Dot Com Sdn. Bhd.
