News Summary:

Huawei partnered with the Malagasy government to connect over 1600 villages to telecom services, furthering the country's digital transformation. This project follows the "Digital Menabe Project," aiming to connect 200,000 people in the Menabe region. The government also aims for 95 percent coverage in remote rural areas. In Kenya, on March 17, 2025, 290 young people graduated from a six-week digital skills training program under Huawei's TECH4ALL initiative in Homa Bay. The program trained 143 women and 147 men. Additionally, Phase II of the Kenya DigiSchool Connectivity Project concluded, connecting 21 schools to the internet, including six for children with special needs. This project involved the Ministry of Education, Ministry of ICT and the Digital Economy, Kenya Power, UNESCO, and Huawei Tech4All. In Uganda, Huawei provided digital skills training to 6000 Ugandans through its DigiTruck initiative, launched March 8, 2023. This initiative uses a mobile, solar-powered classroom. Separately, Huawei collaborated with BMW to develop an in-car digital ecosystem in China using Huawei's HarmonyOS.
