Chinese National Radio and Television Administration, also known as NRTA, is a State Owned entity headquartered in China. Founded in 2018, the NRTA functions as a ministry-level executive agency under the control of the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Its primary mandate is the administration and supervision of state-owned enterprises operating within the television and radio industries. The agency directly controls national-level state-owned enterprises such as China Central Television, China National Radio, and China Radio International, in addition to other movie and television studios and non-business organizations. The administration was formerly identified as the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) from 2013 to 2018, and prior to that, the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) from 1998 to 2013.
