National Communications Commission, also known as NCC, is a state-owned agency headquartered in Taiwan. Founded in 2006, the agency is responsible for regulating the development of the telecommunication and broadcasting industries in Taiwan. Its mandate includes promoting competition and consumer protection, and regulating licensing, radio frequency and spectrum, programming content, and communications standards and specifications within Taiwan. The NCC functions as Taiwan's equivalent of regulatory bodies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States, Ofcom in the United Kingdom, and the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) in Australia.
