Conference USA is a privately owned intercollegiate athletic conference founded in 1995 and headquartered in the United States. As of 2023, it employs approximately 40 people. The conference's primary activity is organizing and overseeing spectator sports competitions among its 14 member institutions: Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Old Dominion, Rice, Southern Miss, UAB, UTEP, UTSA, and WKU.
Conference USA partnered with Middle Tennessee State University's Department of Recording Industry to create original music for marketing and promotional use. On an unspecified date, Conference USA also announced a collaboration with Middle Tennessee student-athletes Nicholas Vattiato and Parker Hughes alongside Head Coach Derek Mason. Separately, the Nebraska bowling team will join Conference USA as an affiliate member for bowling, effective for the 2025-2026 season. Louisiana Tech University announced its departure from Conference USA to join the Sun Belt Conference, becoming its 14th member, following a vote by Sun Belt CEOs on Monday. Reports indicate that this move replaces Texas State, which joined the Pac-12.
