Earlier, on September 23, Shaw and Partners Women Racing, co-founded by Katie Spithill and Stacey Jackson, completed its inaugural international campaign by finishing fifth overall at the New York Yacht Club Women’s International Championship in Newport, Rhode Island, making it the highest-placed team from outside North America in the 20-team international fleet. This followed the NSW & ACT Sailing Awards on September 21, where CYCA members dominated, securing three major categories, with Life Member John Kirkjian receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, Jiang Lin winning Female Sailor of the Year, and Andy Green named Male Sailor of the Year.
